Waterlox Varnishes are prized by leading craftsmen for their classic warmth, beauty and durability. Hand made by the Hawkins family in Cleveland Ohio since 1916, these tung oil based varnishes excel for all hand applications and are well suited to wiping varnish techniques. One of the best floor finishes you'll find. As an added plus, all Waterlox varnishes are safe for toys, infant furniture and surfaces used in food preparation (after typical 30 days cure time).

Waterlox Original Sealer and Finish - Designed for quick and thorough penetration. Their #1 selling product can be used as a sealer for the other finishes or as a tie coat to improve adhesion to finished surfaces. It's easily applied with a rag, brush or lambswool applicator and sanding is not necessary between coats. Dries to a 50-55° medium sheen.

GALLON CANS,  2 OZ. PACKET

Waterlox Original Satin - A lower gloss (20-25° satin sheen) and can be used over the Original Sealer and Finish when a lower gloss is desired. It does not apply streaky like many satin varnishes do if wiped on. If desired, the Original Satin can be used as a total system. 2 coats produce a low luster "in the wood" appearance. 450 VOC
NOTE: Original Satin will be phased out and replaced with the new lower VOC version. The 350 VOC can be sold in all areas of the country. 350 VOC will be a slightly higher cost than the old product, but performs much better.

GALLON CANS,  2 OZ. PACKET (original formula only)

Waterlox High Gloss - Has the highest resin content and gloss level (85° Gloss Level). Best when used over the Original Sealer. Best used when you want to rub out the varnish. Recommended when higher durability is required for furniture such as table tops, and woodwork.

QUART AND GALLON CANS,  2 OZ. PACKET

General Finishes oil based products are widely used by discriminating craftsman throughout the country. Seal-A-Cell sealer/finish is used as a low luster, "in-the-wood" finish by itself or as the foundation for the more protective Arm-R-Seal oil/poly topcoats. Gel topcoat is a gel polyurethane based finish that's incredibly easy to apply.

Seal-A-Cell Clear for decades has served craftsman as the best way to get the  that "natural" look on beautiful woods that aren't to be stained. The oils penetrate deep within the wood to highlight the warm natural look and the urethane insures a deep hardness. Follow with multiple coats of Arm-R-Seal topcoat if more durability is required.Seal-A-Cell can be wiped on or applied with a foam brush. Quarts and Gallon

Arm-R-Seal topcoats are made with only the highest quality urethane resin, making them extremely durable and long lasting. They are formulated to be wiped on with a cloth or applied with a foam brush, thus eliminating drips and sags.  They penetrate to provide deep down protection and that  " natural" look. Quarts and Gallon, gloss and satin sheens.

Gel Topcoat is one of the easiest oil finishes to apply. Gel Topcoat has a high content of urethane for more protection. Gel Topcoat is available in satin.  For semi-gloss or gloss sheens, use Arm-R-Seal Topcoat.

BLOXYGEN  - uses a special blend of inert gases to drive the oxygen out of your container of oil based finish. Works with all of the products on this page as well as any product based upon a drying oil such as linseed, tung or soya. Particularly effective on tung oil based varnishes such as Waterlox. Simply blow the oxygen out of your container with Bloxygen and then seal the lid. The heavy, inert Bloxygen gases sink down to block oxygen from the liquid surface. Because Bloxygen is heavier than air, it will separate the liquid surface from any air that may remain in the container.

Use all your finish, not just the first half
Eliminate spray gun clogs and jams
Reduce your hazardous waste / product loss
Avoid paying a premium for small volumes of finish
Improve the quality of the final application
Prevent changes in product chemistry during storage
Save time by making finishing projects easier and cleaner
Store your leftovers safely, in the original, labeled container
